JD Sparxx JD Sparxx started djing early 1997 playing around with Old skool style on his bog-standard cd decks with no pitch control, where he learnt a lot about the djing technique. JD used to mix tunes in the breaks, not even beat matched, and at the time sounding good to him. JD listened to various Djs play, on the radio or in a club, various set’s he heard gave him a wealth of experience which has taught him play his own style. Djs which have inspired JD through out his music career have been some big names which included world class Djs Armin Van Burren, Slipmatt, Judge Jules and Tiesto. In 1999 the year of Trance, JD received a big bonus from his boss and decided to spend it on upgrading his equipment. JD ended up buying a whole new set up, and then basically spent most of his time in his bedroom, annoying the neighbours with constant practice. This was the year he found Trance Music and was absolutely hooked. JD began playing at local competitions and then progressing to the local clubs and bars.
2001 JD Sparxx went on a mission to Ibiza which at the time could have only been a dream until he turned this in to reality. At the end of a week’s holiday, JD Sparxx and a fellow DJ partner decided not to go home and to spend the summer in the Balearics Djing at various small club’s and also had a couple of big gigs too including Eden. That’s been the most influential part of his dj career. Gaining more exposure and getting more involved in the dance scene he had the opportunity to not only play hot new tunes but he also met big name DJs who helped him progress on this techniques. What could have been a better place to do it then the club land of the world, only taking a handful of tunes JD Sparxx flew off to Ibiza to start his new adventure. | Two years later JD was asked if he’d be interested on playing the local radio stations to present his own dance show. JD Sparxx is still presenting the radio show and mixing every week spinning new House, Breaks and Trance, emptying the record shop shelves at every given opportunity. You can catch him on Intense FM 97.5 based in Berkshire |
In JD Sparxx own words….Ibiza helped me also to search for something new, it went by the name of House music. This brings me on to today. I’ve got a lot of love for Funky House and even Dirty House at the moment along with Breakbeat which I think is becoming increasingly more popular today.
